It's New Year's Eve, You're Drunk and Damnit, You Drove

Well, if you happen to drive within seven miles of home, then you might be in luck. The Auto Club of Southern California is offering their Tipsy Tow service for those too inebriated to drive, but aware enough to take advantage of the free service.

Just call 1-800-400-4AAA (you might want to plug it in to your cell phone now) for a free up-to-seven-mile tow (you may also pay the rate charged by the two truck contractor for a longer distance ride).

The service is available at 6 p.m. Wednesday, New Year’s Eve, through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009. And the service excludes rides for passengers, is restricted to a one-way, one-time ride for the driver and the destination is limited to the driver’s residence. Oh, and reservations are not accepted.
