There's good news and bad news when it comes to driving-related incidents that happened over the holidays this past week. According to the Daily Breeze, "Six traffic deaths were reported over the holiday weekend in Los Angeles County and DUI arrests by California Highway Patrol officers were down from last year's total."

The number of deaths from traffic incidents is double last year's figure, and included incidents like a Christmas Eve hit-and-run on the 405 near the 90, and a Christmas Day rollover on the 110 near PCH.

LA County caught almost 100 fewer drunk drivers this year, as "local CHP officers made 233 DUI arrests between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Sunday, compared with 331 arrests in the similar period last year."
