Obama Loves Him Some Brutha

Barack Obama has asked Los Angeles-based R&B group Brutha to perform at his inaugurationLocal R&B group Brutha [MySpace] has a very good reason to be merry this holiday season, since they were just asked to perform at President-elect Barack Obama's upcoming inauguration. The call came while the cameras were rolling for their new BET reality show, and Fox followed up with a story. The group is comprised of the five Harrell brothers from Los Angeles, and according to the staffer who called up the guys to give them the invite, Obama is a huge fan of their work. Brutha is signed to Def Jam and their album--coincidentally?--comes out tomorrow. Brutha is obviously a far less controversial selection for inclusion in Obama's inaugural ceremony than at least one of his other invitees. Unless of course Boyz II Men are back together.

First of all, Boys II Men are back together and have been touring for a couple years now. Actually I dont think they were ever not together as a group. Second of all, "Brutha?" Are you fucking Kidding me?! This cant be true.

A Tribe Called Quest should perform.

yeah boys 2 men!!!! every year at the house of blues.

Obama already has staked out a position on a playoff system for college football. I think he should use his considerable clout for other, equally worthy tasks:

* Get Salt N Pepa AND Dj. Spinderella back together.
* convince Morrissey to at least consider a Smiths reunion.
* Get Tribe to play the inauguration.
* find a way for the scissor sisters to have at least a minor hit in the US.

But seriously, "BRUTHA"? That's not even trying to be lame at punning.

Ross, it would probably take a miracle to just get Morrissey to "consider" a Smiths reunion.
