Governor Schwarzenegger, in one of his ideas to help fix the state's budget deficit projected to be $42 billion, is ready to eliminate thousands of state jobs and order two-day-a-month unpaid furloughs for other state workers starting in February.

"We're in a time when we're trying to get federal money to build infrastructure and create jobs. Telling people to stay home two days a month does not seem to be a productive way to do that," said Bruce Blanning, executive director of the Professional Engineers in California Government, to the SacBee.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles has its own budget problems--a possible $433 million deficit next year. How can you help? Play politician on the city's website by taking a survey where you can tell the mayor what you would cut from departments.

How 'bout cutting 10% from the legislators salaries.

That would be a start.

As for the city, I'd start by cutting Villaraigosa's “regular” staff of 93, which is up by 23 positions from last year, to say 35.

Oh...and cutting back on the mayor's Listerine strips and bottled water couldn't hurt either.

SOMEONE FUCKING FIRE THIS GUY PLEASE

Recall! Recall! Recall!! Oh wait. Wasn't he in a movie with that chant repeated?

I guess "Terminator" has a whole new meaning when you are the gobernator.
