LAist was on hand to check out last week's opening ceremony for the new and improved Conga Room, which was once considered the "premier Latin music nightclub" by the LA Times.
It's picked up some steam since moving from West Hollywood to downtown's LA Live; Will.I.Am, Jennifer Lopez, Sheila E., Jimmy Smits, Amaury Nolasco, Baron Davis, and Trevor Ariza are co-owners for what promises to become a cornerstone establishment establishment of LA Live.
The venue also features Boca, the Conga Room's very own restaurant that specializes in Pan-Latin cuisine. The chef is Alex Garcia, who hails from Calle Ocho in New York. The restaurant boasts late-night dining, with its very own "hangover menu" that offers a special late night menu from 11PM-2AM, perfect for dining after a basketball game or concert. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner hours, so if you need some time to kill go check it out.
The Gypsy Kings will be performing for the New Year's Eve event, so get tickets before they get sold out. More information can be found here.

Conga Room wasn't in West Hollywood … it was on Wilshire at La Brea.
Yeah that would be the Miracle Mile area. Far from WeHo.
With all due respect that's Fausto Cuevas playing with Antonio Villaraigoza and those are Congas not bongos..
Sheila E. is clapping clave on the left.
