How do you insure that you will never show up to a party to find someone wearing the same dress? Buy vintage. In Los Angeles we have loads of choices for finding fun vintage clothes. We had heard of Shareen's but never had a chance to shop there. Then one day a friend suggested a trip to Shareen's instead of lunch. So we drove off through the warehouse district downtown to find it.
We turned onto N Avenue 21 and just as we thought we couldn't possibly be in the right place, there it was. We parked, walked in, and found our new favorite store in LA.
Racks of dresses, rows of cool shoes, tables covered in jewelry. Cue angelic music. Shareen offers amazing things at reasonable prices. The store feels like entering a giant magical closet. Shareen was on hand to help us make our selections.
In addition to her downtown location she has a space on Abbot Kinney in Venice and one in New York. On her website you can sign up for her famous newsletter and find out more details about the locations and hours. Shareen Vintage downtown is located at 350 N AVE 21. The Venice location is open on Thursday nights for happy hour and is also available for parties.

NO BOYS ALLOWED?
Looks like paradise for a drag queen and she isn't going to let guys in!
"The store feels like entering a giant magical closet"
Girly-boys allowed, clearly.
(*Love* that white woolen sheath dress!)
new stores are always great but the thing that really bothers me is the over use of what people want to designate as "downtown." this is really more lincoln heights than downtown. it reminds me of the time i went to a party touted as "DOWNTOWN WAREHOUSE PARTY" and i had to read the address 3 or 4 times because it was down the street from my parents in el sereno.
so much space in there! i always get claustrophobic in vintage stores cause usually they're packed in so tight. this place looks awesome.
