Freeway Shooting in Downtown Leaves One Man Injured

crimeA man was found with several bullet wounds slumped over the steering wheel of a silver Bentley on the 101 Freeway this morning in downtown. The California Highway Patrol found the car stopped on the freeway after a shots-fired call. It was "peppered with bullet holes, did not have license plates, but had paper plates that read, 'Dreams.' It carries a manufacturer's suggested price of about $176,000," reported the Associated Press. A SigAlert was issued as the investigation continued and morning rush hour traffic snarled for miles.

First an economic depression, then the revived Tammany Hall style politics in Chicago, now this gangland style shooting on the 101FWY. Bring back prohibition, and it'll really start feeling like the '30s again!

Noir man, pure LA-style noir, albeit with a modern-twist. I mean, the piece of paper pasted where the license plate should have been actually read "Dreams"?? And the shooting took place at 3:30am on the 101 where it swerves under the overpasses in the middle of downtown, practically right under our (architecturally stunning) City Hall? Wow. A screenwriter could come up with this and it'd be tossed out as too cliche!

This is like performance art!

Damn... I was around there not long before.
