TV Junkie: Network TV 'Ain't Broke' But They're Doing Their Darndest

Meredith from 'The Office'CBS head honcho, Les Moonves, says that the network TV model of programming and advertising "ain't broke" despite reports to the contrary as well as the evidence of the past decade. Moonves was confident in the easy bet that "CSI: Miami" will beat Jay Leno's new 10pm show on Monday night, he didn't offer much additional perspective on the 3 1/2 hours of nightly talk shows that NBC is planning in 2009.

Dear Les, if that's true then why didn't a single Big Three TV drama get nominated for the Golden Globes? We understand that there's a difference between making good money and making good television, but surely NBC or its brethren could have come up with something original and interesting enough to deserve a nomination. Not in 2008 evidently.

"Dear Les, if that's true then why didn't a single Big Three TV drama get nominated for the Golden Globes?"

I generally agree with this premise, but the fact that THE WIRE has never garnered any critical acclaim leads me to believe that the people who vote in such things have never actually watched TV.

damn. I mean "garnered any major awards"

The Wire is very critically acclaimed.

An edit feature on here would be the bee's knees. Whatever the fuck that means.

Colfax I totally agree with you about "The Wire" and you are hilarious BTW.
