The Parson Red Heads' Top Ten of 2008

The Parson Red HeadsPhoto by Koga for LAist

December is list-making season. And for us music journalists, it is a time to look back on scores of albums, reflect upon the music and recapitulate our favorites. But this year, just like the last, we took this opportunity to flip that tradition upside down, asking the artists that influenced us what influenced them. The prompt was not limited to albums that came out in 2008.

The Parson Red Heads' collective favs of 2008:

Blitzen Trapper - Furr
Brothers & Sisters - Fortunately
Henry Clay People - For Cheap Or For Free
Everest - Ghost Notes
The Sweet Hurt - In The Shade of Dreams
The Who - My Generation
The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man
Luna - Rendezvous
Television - Marquee Moon
Eric Bachmann - To The Races

That about sums it up in no particular order! =)

The Parson Red Heads - "Got It All"

This last year LAist's Koga shot the hell out of them.
