Last Tuesday Modern Luxury magazine Angeleno and Il Moro restaurant got together to celebrate the prizewinning MoroAngeleno. No one could tell us exactly what award it had won. When we asked the mixologist he mumbled, "The Mixologists".
Angeleno Magazine has been running a series called The Summer Cocktail Tour featuring local restaurants that invented a new cocktail with Angeleno in the name. Genius cross-marketing. So perhaps this cocktail was the best out of of the Summer Cocktail Tour.
Whatever. Open bar, free food and an unseasonably warm night on a gorgeous patio made us forget all about the award. DJ Richie Rich was spinning and the crowd seemed to be an interesting mix of fashionistas, artists, models, and local cable access stars. Let's check it out.
Moroangeleno Cocktail Recipe
1/2 oz. Hennessey
4 1/2 oz. Chandon
1 oz. homemade organic raspberry extract infused with mint
1 oz. organic agave nectar
Method
1) Shake organic raspberry extract and agave nectar together and pour into champagne flute. 2) Fill flute with chandon champagne and float Hennessey. 3) Garnish with a fresh green apple ring… The one and only has arrived!
