Zuma Dogg Collects Signatures for Mayoral Campaign

zuma_dogg_mayor.jpgActivist, Venice local, political gadfly and blogger Zuma Dogg has collected enough signatures to hopefully qualify for the March 3rd ballot to run for Mayor of Los Angeles, he announced on his blog today. "So out of the 1000 [signatures]...hopefully 500 people aren't mistaken as to their registration address. So we'll find out in a couple (or a few) days as to whether 'Zuma Dogg' officially makes it on the ballot," he wrote. Solomon Wolfson, who used to run a blog that kept an eye on Mayor Villaraigosa, noted that "The absence of a high-profile mayoral contender will allow Zuma Dogg to attract far more media attention than would otherwise be possible." Media attention? Oh yes.

Zuma Dogg is great on public access channel 34

I saw this dude at a Highland Park Neighborhood Council meeting a few weeks ago. Never really got to the bottom of why he was there, but he sure was hilarious!

Zuma Dogg for PREZ!!!!!!!!!!!

Politicians in this city turn and run away when they see ZD coming. Ha! But to vote for Dogg as mayor, he'd have to tell me who he is and where he's been, other than "artist, comedian, gadfly." Who are you, really, Zuma? Eh, I'd probably vote for him anyway, even if he doesn't show us his jacket.

Zach - last I checked Solomon STILL runs a blog that is critical of Mayor Villaraigosa, you may have heard of it, it's named after a certain old, dead Republican Mayor of Los Angeles. :)

Babamoto - check out Zuma Dogg's blog at ladailyblog.com. Not only is there a tremendous archive of material about the City you probably didn't know, but he has already written out what I believe is the most comprehensive and cogent argument a candidate for Mayor has offered yet.
