Photos from Last Night's Jupiter, Venus & Moon Viewing

This trio of planets were seen from around the world last night. And hopefully you saw it too because it won't be happening until 2052 (though, on New Year's Eve, Venus and the moon will be in view). This conjunction of planets have been seen in our skies since Thanksgiving night, but last night was when they appeared closest together.

Venus is around 100 million miles away and Jupiter at 550 million miles. Much closer to home is the moon at 252,000 miles. Background information on these events can be found here on our previous post.

i'm bummed i missed this. was slaving away at work when it all went down. ugh ugh ugh.

I'm glad I got up on the roof to check it out Sunday because last night's fog shut down the light show.

PS. I'm pretty dang sure that third one in from LA is upside down.

GAHHH the fog made me so MADDDD.

We saw it from Mount Olympus on Sunday night and from Hollywood last night. So beautiful.
