Sonic Boom's Cheap Thrill has Twitter Users Talking

Space Shuttle Endeavour landing

Once we heard (and felt) the twin sonic booms at 1:20 on the dot, hundreds of people went to Twitter to share their experience. Pet cats freaked out and hid, earthquake concerns worried some, car alarms went off and others enjoyed the short shaking as they welcomed back Space Shuttle Endeavour. Here's some of what was said:

pamelaribon: Just heard the sonic boom of the space shuttle landing, while reading about space shuttle trying to land. Everybody around us freaked out.

shaindlin: Lost some plaster from the living room ceiling from the sonic booms.

FuMikechu: didn't realize that was a sonic boom. Had to look out my window to make sure it wasn't another Scientology shooting.

MattKellyLA: was it an earthquake or a sonic boom?

jakerx: Sonic boom from the shuttle landing just freaked me the fuck out. In retrospect, pretty awesome, but at the time, freaky.

linnetzia: Just heard the sonic boom, and it sounded like something crashed onto the roof. Our house shook. Crazy.

mikerrr: Shuttle Endeavour's sonic boom just shook my apartment! Awesome

ladimcbeth: Sonic Boom: one brief moment of "WTF was that?" Followed by "AWESOME!"

Bluesjanet: On the Nasa TV channel, the sonic boom sounded like someone smacking a fist on a table.

fightinmadmary: That sonic boom seriously shook the house.
