Apple + Butter = Delicious
It's the end of apple season, so what do with all the extras? You preserve them by making apple butter. The Apple Butter Festival is an annual tradition at Rileys' at Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen. It's a little of a drive out to the 909, but if you love that butter, you'll make the trip.

Shop Ultra Locally
Sure, there are the big brand stores. But there's also the little guys who throw special events too. From the Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage flea market to Alternative Art Market in Pasadena to the Winter Fantasy at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, there's lots to choose from.

Day Tripping
We interviewed travel author Donna Wares on Wednesday about what to do this weekend if we wanted to take some day trips. If that's your style, maybe you'll head to Crystal Cove, Seal Beach or Temecula for some wine tasting. Read her interview here.

1000 Teddies for the Kids
If you've got the children today, Philipp Jordan's 1000 Teddies installation (seen above) can be found at the Douglass Building in downtown LA. There'll be crayon drawing, dancing, singing, teddy reading, face painting and animation drawing It's all a fundraiser for the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles Oncology Department.
