What I'm Thankful For

1. A giving community
Today I went to Gobble Gobble Give at the Echo where hundreds of people showed up to donate clothes, and prepare and package food to hand out to the homeless. It's always extraordinary to see individuals give of themselves even in the littlest manner. It reminds me that we aren't all selfish assholes and are capable of looking out for one another. Represent!

2. Del Taco Classic Combo Meal
Speaking of food, have you seen Del Taco's new deal? A combo burrito, classic taco and small drink for just $2.99. I know I'm partial to the Del because of my OC background, but this is truly a steal. Nowadays, it seems as though food keeps getting more expensive, but it's nice to know Del Taco menu items continue to be cheap.

3. Lowering gas prices
At one point gas prices were so expensive, I thought I was going to have to start biking to work. It was that bad. Now it's that good. Last time I hit up the pump, I paid $1.99 a gallon and spent less than $25 to fill up a tank. When I got my receipt, I was so surprised by the total my eyes almost popped out of my head.

4. Not having a completely insane family
Okay, all families are a bit on the crazy side, however I can say in all honesty, I get along and enjoy hanging out with my family. Even when we disagree (over dumb stuff, of course), we end up settling it over more food and booze. Maybe it's the grub and libations, but I'd like to think it's our fondness that keeps us together.

5. True Blood
Alan Ball is my hero. Everything he creates I'm absolutely in love with, including American Beauty, Six Feet Under, Towelhead and now True Blood. The characters of the show totally draw me in and make me believe a ridiculous storyline about vampires, fang bangers and serial killers. My favorite Lafayette quote, "If she talked any more shit, she'd be shaped like a turd." HI-LARIOUS!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and are surrounded by family, friends, and especially LOVE. This is the best holiday of the year.

Over and out!
