I am thankful for: Family and friends, being able to see the ocean and the mountains, meeting amazing people in LA everyday, funny celebrity sightings, farmers markets and the Farmer's Market, and living in the greatest city on earth.
My favorite LA things this year: Shopping in Little Tokyo, eating noodles in Little Osaka, reading to kids in Boyle Heights, Lolita tea parties at Royal/T, noshing on hot dogs at Let's Be Frank, the gardens at the Malibu Getty, seeing Loudon Wainwright III and Joe Henry at Largo, celebrating my daughter's birthday at The Who Rock Honors, sharing the joy at The Weezer Hootenanny, seeing the Murakami exhibit at MOCA four times, savoring Korean BBQ at Dong Il Jang, meeting Hello Kitty at The Valley of the Dolls, throwing Project Runway parties, meeting Tanya Aguiniga at Design Sponge Biz ladies meeting, watching my daughter walk the runway in a paper princess dress made by Ann Closs-Farley at Santa Monica Festival kids eco-fashion show, drinking hot chocolate at Trails in Griffith Park, seeing BB King at Opening Night of the Hollywood Bowl, meeting Mario at Childrens' Hospital, playing Wii Sports Resort at E3, hanging out at Huntington Beach, eating live shrimp sushi at Sushi Gen, seeing Cirque Berzerk downtown, going to tapings of America's Best Dance Crew, meeting Elmo and Abby Cadaby, watching David Minkin's magic show in the Magic Castle's Close Up Gallery, celebrating at the TenOverSix opening, mentoring Virginia Avenue Project kids, crying tears of joy on election night at the Edison, and of course LAist!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
