Good idea on the cloth napkins ms.

I try to find the Big Lots triple perforated paper towels, (one sheet length perforated into three smaller ones), but they don't always have them. Cloth napkins are an even better idea, and probably wouldn't add substantially to the regular laundry.

Definitely shop locally for ingredients. This is a big way to cut down on your carbon foot print overall. In California, it's so easy to do. There are farmer's markets with great produce available all year round. Hell, we ship our produce to the rest of the country - they should be so lucky to live here! If you eat birds, you can also get humanely raised heirloom turkeys - heritage breeds that are raised on a turkey's natural diet, not injected with hormones or antibiotics, and humanely killed.

Use cloth! Cloth place mats, table cloths and napkins. I thought using cloth napkins would be a royal pain in the ass, but it's not at all. You never run out of napkins. You can use them a few times before throwing them in the hamper (unless you eat ribs or wings everyday). They cost $2 or less. I own 8 of them. It's definitely cut down on my napkin and paper towel consumption, thus saving money and the environment.
