The 'Subway to the Sea' as a Depression Era Project
Bill Boyarsky, former LA Times columnist and LA Observed blogger, writes an op-ed today in the Times about the passing of the two transit propositions--high speed rail and LA County transit funding--on the November ballot could emulate Depression era projects. "Thanks to two measures that were on the Nov. 4 ballot, we have the prospect of financing public works projects that can put the growing number of unemployed to work, just as the dams and bridges did more than 70 years ago."
