Police released the name of the swordsman who was shot dead Sunday afternoon by a security guard at the Scientology Celebrity Centre on Franklin Ave. in Hollywood. Mario Majorski, who was involved in the church, possibly as early as 1990, according to an anti-Scientology website, went to UCLA in 1993 and was a plaintiff in a two suits against UCLA and a school professor.
"It is illegal and immoral for the University to provide tens of thousands of dollars of aid to West to try to destroy any religion," Majorski told the Daily Bruin back then. "We intend to see that this is stopped." However, he had little involvement with the cases, according to the LA Times.
The Times also finds that Majorski had a residence California as recently as the summer of 2007 in addition to his Florence, Oregon home.
Over at Defamer, they find the story gets even weirder: "sleuths at Why We Protest have dug up some of his bankruptcy filings — as well as a TV movie where Scientology's own Jenna Elfman played a character named 'Majorski.'"

In searches on the internet it shows this guy has been active in the "church" of Scientology with as recent as 2004.
And is well known by the controversial lead attorney for the "church" who it seems represented him. (this is strange because he usually only takes cases that are in the CoS interest.
It is not uncommon for "controversial religions" to harass there members to the breaking point I have spoken with people trying to leave scientology who claim former "church members" tried to break into her home (through windows) and physically drag them back physically. This was only one of the constant attempts she recalled things similar happening daily for weeks after she left.
I wouldn't be shock in the least if this man has had similar experiences that may have driven him to his actions.
My heart goes out to his family (if any) as well as the security guard.
He went down in glory. Swords are so badass.
