FILM IN THE OC: Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts presents the world premiere of Giant Steps, a documentary about how dance is changing the lives of at-risk kids in Cambodia, tonight at 7 pm in the school’s Folino Theatre. The film is the first release of Chapman’s new “interdisciplinary documentary program, which sends teams of students around the world to profile leading human rights and development organizations.” The screening is free and includes a Q-and-A with student filmmakers and a reception with live Cambodian music and cuisine following the film.

FILM & PERFORMANCE: The Silent Movie Theatre screens a new film and performance by and about “British-born, L.A.-based musical enigma Pop Levi, acclaimed for his unique brand of robot glam and freak folk.” You Don't Gotta Run, is a 37-min “surreal concotion of mannequins, jetlag, spotlights, boogie boards and sushi-time.” He’ll perform a live set after the screening. Tickets are $12.

CLASSICAL: Visiting Israel Philharmonic Orchestra comes to the Walt Disney Concert Hall tonight at 8 pm with guest (and future LA Phil) conductor Gustavo Dudamel. The program includes: Bernstein’s “Halil,” Bernstein’s “Jubilee Games” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4.”

COMEDY*: Comedian Patton Oswald hits the Largo at the Coronet tonight at 8:30 pm. He’ll bring along a few friends brings for the one night stand at Largo. Tickets are $25.
