Army Navy @ Troubadour, 11/17

Local favorites Army Navy returned home to the Troubadour last Monday. The enthused crowd (and by enthused I mean Los Angeles enthused, which means slight bobbings of the head and the occasional shimmy) showed their joy by yelling song suggestions.

The front man, Justin Kennedy (interview) looking dapper in stripes sang earnestly into the mic like a more restrained Perry Ferrell. His bass player, Benjamin Gaffin, and drummer, Douglas Randall, were spot on keeping the backbone of the songs on the straight and narrow. But I would like to dedicate this photo gallery to Louie Schultz, who played magnificently despite being perched awkwardly on a stool for the entire evening. He spun and tapped frantically against his chair until he could stand it no longer. For the finale, Louie leapt from the chair, wincing in pain, and finished the set. I salute you sir. These photos are for you.

Photos were taken by the talented Timothy Murray.
