The Latest on the Sayre, Triangle Complex & Tea Fires

The Sayre and Triangle Complex Fires in the Los Angeles area are still burning, but firefighters are gaining the upperhand.

The 11,207-acre Sayre Fire that began late Friday night in Sylmar, a Los Angeles neighborhood in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, is 64% contained. One of the most destructive fires in Los Angeles city limits in a very long time, it burned through 480 homes at the Oakridge Mobile Home Park as well as 9 single family homes, 104 outbuildings and 10 commercial buildings.

The Triangle Complex Fire that has burned 28,889 acres and destroyed 155 homes is 60% contained. It started Saturday morning in Riverside County off the 91 Freeway and moved its way into Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties.

Up in Santa Barbara, most all mandatory evacuations were lifted early last night before the Tea Fire was fully contained this morning, according to an update from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. 1,940 acres burned and 210 homes were destroyed. The blaze has costs $5,700,000 in firefighting costs to date.
