Sayre Fire Moves into Placerita Canyon; Search and Rescue Operations Underway in Oakridge Mobile Home Park

As the Sayre Fire moves northward further into the Santa Clarita Valley and in Placerita Canyon, there is some good news for residents of the San Fernando Valley affected by the blaze.

As of midday, "all freeways in the City of Los Angeles that were closed by the Sylmar fires are reopened, with the exception of the northbound offramp from the Foothill (210) Freeway to Roxford Street, where repairs are underway," reports MyFox11. Further, they add that, excluding evacuations in Diamond Bar due to the Triangle Complex Fire "all evacuated and closed areas in the City of Los Angeles have been reopened to all people with the exception of the Oakridge Mobile Home Park in Sylmar."

Of the four evacuation centers opened yesterday to accept evacuees, only Sylmar High School is expected to remain open for at least the next 24 hours, and that shelters set up at Kennedy, San Fernando and Chatsworth High Schools will soon be closed.
