"When I first moved to Los Angeles, people from the east coast warned me that I was going to get so frustrated with the car culture that it would drive me crazy. What I discovered was something else," Damien Newton at LA Streetsblog opines, talking about the Los Angeles bicycle community. He deems this Streetfilms video as "required viewing."

Made me wall warm and fuzzy inside when I first saw it.
When I moved back to LA from NYC, I had several conversations with normal, bright, people, and in most of them they literally did not believe them that I would have no problem getting around LA without a car. It's almost been a year and guess what, I've been getting around just fine.
But expecting NYC heads to stop talking shit on LA for any and every reason? Forget it.
Yeah, it all sort of reminds me of people from Wisconsin so up in arms about FIBS, aka Fucking Illinois Bastards. In IL, we don't care about it, but for some reason Wisconsin people do.
I relate it to NYC and LA. They bitch more than we do about said opposite city, at least in my experience.
New york = Talk
LA = Hype
