Ridley Scott to Helm Big Screen Version of Monopoly

The Monopoly Movie with Director Ridley ScottAccording to the Hollywood Reporter, Hasbro and Universal have announced a new collaboration, "Monolpoly", the movie. The project will be produced and possibly directed by Ridley Scott. In a time when foreclosures are on the front page of every newspaper, it will be fascinating to see how screenwriter Scott and Pamela Pettler adapt the iconic real-estate board game into a big screen extravaganza. "Monopoly" has also found a new home in video games with the EA's recent release of "Monopoly" for Wii, PS2, PS3, and Xbox. Several other board game to the big screen projects are in development. We'd like to see "Candyland" the musical.

if this is successful, will it start a frightening trend of board game movies?

Why? Novels, comics, cartoons, now board games? Come on Hollywood let's think up something original.

Well, at least there'll be a lot of sets available.

if this becomes a trend, please do Shoots and Ladders.

Come on, Mouse Trap would be action packed edge-of-your-seat excitement.

Didn't they already make a crappy movie based on mouse trap? maybe that was mouse hunt. I know they already did Clue. Wasn't that enough? If not, I vote for Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Oh yeah Clue, I saw that with a live shadow cast at the Nuart, was fun.

How about an action adventure based on Chutes and Ladders or the slasher/horror film "Operation"?
