As I read your words, when you use words such as haters and bigots,it is you who hate and are bigots. You deface churches, steal signs, because you have such hate for the peace of heterosexual lives. We need you, so we know how good we have it. Homosexual relationships have higher abuse rates, higher infidelity, more drug use, more alcohol, and higher cases of suicide. Take responsibility for the people who need help and let them get it, instead of wasting your time trying to be fake heterosexuals. How many gays do you know that want to have ses with the opposite sex or use the eggs or sperms of the opposite sex to have a baby or adopt a child conceive by a heterosexual act. If you are so gay, why do you stillhave the desire for things heterosexual. Maybe, you are not so gay, but normal people with psychosexual gender identity disorders. Just maybe. Do you accept polygamy,pedophilia, paraphilia, and incest or do you judge yourself as better than those people?

rdm24, I can't speak for Galaxiekat but as her husband I can speak for our family that we really feel that the issue does need to be taken out from our safe zone and out to where the yes votes came from. Unfortunately that includes our beloved Eastside. This Sunday at 1:00 p.m. a rally is taking place in Lincoln Park, Lincoln Heights. Less of a drive than to OC but still makes the point- the Yes vote was wrong, and Civil Rights for everyone. I'd be at the Lincoln Heights one but I gotta work. See you all in Silverlake tonight!

Galaxiekat, I disagree. We are past the point of trying to persuade people. We tried that, and failed on Nov 4. We almost made it, but we failed. Now isn't the time for persuading the haters. Now is the time to get our community back together. Show how a bunch of hurt and betrayed people still have overwhelming support from their own communities (which includes all orientations, races, ages, and religions). I'm in Palm Springs, and there was a rally last night. It was a beautiful thing. The problem is, these rallies are in the wrong places. Palm Springs, San Francisco, Long Beach, Silverlake: all very gay-friendly places. We're preaching to the choir. These rallies need to be in places where people are heard and seen by non-sympathizers. The rallies make me proud, but won't sway my opinion. I already voted against Prop 8. Go to the SoCal Bible Belt behind the Orange Curtain. Go to Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks. Burbank and Glendale. Go to Palos Verdes.

I found that LBPD was much less cooperative than LAPD. The LAPD was more of a facilitator in keeping everyone safe whereas the LBPD seemed to really want to control us. There was a point where they closed off all four ways out of an intersection and ordered us to disperse and a standoff ensued. Then, they opened up one of the directions and we walked towards the beach only for them to close us off at the next intersection while a line of police closed in from behind. it was essentially a trap. If they just closed off one direction, we would have protested ourselves out until we dispersed on our own. We weren't even disrupting any major streets and it sure wasn't rush hour.

FYI folks, we don't know for sure about the LB protest, all we can see is that even your local media doesn't agree on numbers, but the SF protest is being reported on AP as only 1,000 people when it was more like 20,000. Keep up the fight!!!

I love you, long beach! There were easily 2000 people there. Perhaps twice that. It was amazing. Lots of straight people, too! The majority of California may hate us, but we have a lot of support here in our own community.
