Actually, of the million trees he's working on planting -- 700,000 will be seeds given away at fairs for YOU to plant for him. As of Nov 10, 2008, (three years after his million tree initiative) only slightly more than 25,000 actual trees have been put in the ground.

And the one million potholes he's claimed to have filled -- he's counting cracks and uneven roads -- and filling the potholes with loose gravel rather than liquid asphalt.

Nice job mayor.

Uhhh ECONOMIC Advisory Board? Did I miss something? How do you have the likes of Warren Buffet, Paul Volcker and other great economic and business minds, and then Antonio Villaraigosa? Isn't LA in financial trouble? It must be because Tony knows how to balance a budget... I just don't get it!

Poor mayor. He's filled a million potholes (actually only 375,213) and planted a million trees (actually only 238,476), so his work in LA is 100% finished (actually only 12%).

But now that the election is over and all that jetting around the country fundraising and grinning (first for Clinton and then for Barack) is done, Mayor Antoniobama Hilarygosa's gotta do something to keep busy before he kicks off his run for governor -- which I'm sure he'll announce while in Florida or Texas.

I agree he doesn't spend enough time working at home. However it's not as though national work is a complete waste of time for Los Angeles. If he can secure federal matching funds for L.A., something more possible than ever with Obama in the white house and a new office being created for urban issues, then it could pay off. Metro announced plans to build the Westside extension that were rather pathetically slow, and Villaraigosa immediately took the mic and said he would be aggressive in getting federal matching dollars to expedite that process. If he can make that happen, this could be a worthwhile effort.

I think the mayor should be as much time as possible in LA working on the problems he was elected to solve.

It's great that he wants to help the country, but he was elected as MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES.

How about our economic crisis?

I guess the city of LA is doing better than everyone thinks.

It's funny how GW BUSH got shit for not doing enough for the hurricanes, the national economic crisis and preventing 9/11, but no one in the LA Media, or LA in general, says HEY MAYOR DO YOUR MOTHER F'N JOB.

Kanye West said George Bush doesn't like black people, I think the mayor doesn't like Angelenos.
