  • Apart from being one of the busiest airports on the planet, a CBS special report now shows that LAX now tops the list for lost and stolen baggage. Somehow we are not surprised... Disturbed, but not surprised.
  • The Proposition 8 battle rages on even after the polls closed. Huge rallies and protests have taken place to show people's disappointment in California. Others have decided to take the hate even further than the polling place.
  • Animal abuse or self defense? An Assistant LA County Fire Chief is being investigated for the beating of a 6-month old shepard mix.
  • How much room does an elephant need? Animal enthusiasts including celebrities Lilly Tomlin and Bob "Spay and Neuter" Barker say a 60-acre sanctuary in the Valley is appropriate. The LA Zoo says the new 6 acre exhibit should be large enough and the LA City Council agreed. They rejected the move to stop work on the $40 million exhibit.
  • Taking Animal Rights to new levels, even Lucy Van Pelt is facing jail time for demonstrating against animal testing. Good grief.
  • The rights of cartoon animals were also being fought for by the family of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Just in time for the release of their new album...
  • Be prepared... A 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake will "hit" here on the 13th. That's what the Great Southern California ShakeOut organized by the Earthquake Country Alliance will be portraying starting 10AM on Thursday the 13th. They are hoping for at least 5 million participants which would make it the largest earthquake drill in US history.
  • The battle of LED billboards have even received notice in the Big Apple. A New York Times.com article relays the story of how some residents are fighting to save their neighborhood from looking like Times Square.
  • County-USC Medical Center is finally moving from their tired, earthquake damaged place into some new, but smaller, digs next door to the Boyle Heights hospital. US Reservists and US Naval trauma specialists will assist in the move of over 450 patients over a two day period.
  • LA Mayor V was with President-elect Obama trying to put his two cents in for fixing the economic mess. He also plans to pitch for some federal help with the roads out here. Change we can believe in...
  • Finally, while the rights of homosexuals is under fire, the home of the gay rights movement was made a historic-cultural monument by the LA City Council. The fight rages on...
