From national to local, mainstream media is abuzz with talking about Twitter and telling viewers and readers to share their stories with them via it. Since the wildfires, ABC7 has been interacting with followers and told viewers to check it out today while on-air. KPCC is on the bandwagon as well as many, many others (and yes, LAist tweets too).
"We've been seeing dramatic increases in activity throughout the campaign—especially the debates," Twitter co-founder Biz Stone told LAist in an e-mail today. "We anticipate today to be our biggest day ever activity wise and we're looking forward to finding out which Twitter account will belong to the next President of the United States."
Both presidential candidates have Twitter accounts with 115,015 people following Barack Obama and a comparatively lousy amount--4,891--following John McCain. What does that say about their core base constituencies?
Special thanks to LAist Contributor Tim Hammer for the screenshot and idea
