Election Day Freebies & Parties!

edison los angeles party Ready to pick up some free election-day goodies? (Ok, so freebies might be against the law, but it's still worth a shot, right?) Or are you looking for a place to party tonight while you watch the results come in? Here's a quick round-up of Election Night specials around town:

  • LAist will be co-hosting a party at the Edison downtown with non-profit Causecast and many others. The event is free but small donations are encouraged.
  • EaterLA has put together an exhaustive list of restaurant freebies and discounts for voters who show their sticker. Pink Taco in Century City is giving out tequila shots and tacos, Starbucks has free cups of coffee, the Daily Grill is doling out free apps and extending happy hour, and all Pitfire Pizza locations have a $12.99 menu and free drinks.
  • Caroline on Crack has the scoop on viewing parties, including Election Night at the Abbey (free drinks for each blue state win!), The Onion's "War For the White House" at the Redwood, and an official Obama gala at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel.
  • Metromix LA also has a long list of places to get your vote party on, including a $3 beer night at Barney's Beanery, a mixer at Cinespace, and politically-themed cocktails and appetizers at Hollywood Billiards.

Of course, if you're anything like me, you'll be cuddled up on the couch all night long, drinking red wine and crossing your fingers as election results roll in.

What are your plans for the big night? Are you home-bound or getting ready to celebrate with fellow Angelenos! Let us know!

Mmmmm Tequila Shots and Tacos. Good thing this is being offered to the after vote crowd.

Unfortunately I have class until 9:45, but several people have specific instructions to text me if anything important happens. Other than that, I have to be up at 6:30 tomorrow morning for work, so no.

In high school one of my classmates had a father who was a US Representative and she always missed school the day after the elections due to victory parties.

Im like you sister. Maybe we can be like eachother, together?

All the chains offering free items have changed it to not require an "I Voted" sticker, as it is illegal to do so.

Now it's simply "a celebration of our democracy." Ben & Jerry's is also giving out free ice cream from 5-8.

The RSVP list seems to be full-up for the LAist co-sponsored event at the Edison (http://causeontherocks.eventbrite.com).

Is that really the case? Is it possible to still get on the list/get in? Or will we still be waiting in line when the Inauguration rolls around?

i was going to the edison but my gf got sick so i had to take care of some things...but i DID get to go to the starbucks twice and krispy kreme once near my house...
