I am just as infuriated. This student is one of my closest friends and I was shocked half to death after I heard the news. I know for a fact that she is in the hospital, on the way to stabilizing after being listed as in critical condition. Some kindhearted person found her and sent her to the hospital. Whoever was the coward who did this to her deserves to be punished.

I hope for a safe recovery for the student, and that the driver is found and convicted of attempted vehicular manslaughter.

How does one hit someone, see them launched 40 feet, and leave? Why do they think about? Are they remorseful at all? I just can't even put myself in their shoes - it's just so mind boggling that someone would do this and not have any sort of empathy or feeling.
