Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, a 22-year-old female California State University Northridge student was hit and launched 40 feet from a crosswalk she was walking across. She suffered severe injuries and is listed in critical condition. The LAPD has few clues about the incident, which took place at Reseda Boulevard and Superior Street near campus. What they do know is that the suspect car is possibly a Toyota or Lexus traveling northbound. If anyone knows any information they can report it here.
From the LAPD: "Anyone with information about this incident or witnesses to the traffic collision are asked to contact Valley Traffic Division Detectives at (818) 644-8034 or (818) 644-8035. After-hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Callers may also text “CRIMES” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web Tips. When using a cell phone, messages should always begin with “LAPD.” All calls and contacts are anonymous."

How does one hit someone, see them launched 40 feet, and leave?
Why do they think about? Are they remorseful at all? I just can't even put myself in their shoes - it's just so mind boggling that someone would do this and not have any sort of empathy or feeling.
I hope for a safe recovery for the student, and that the driver is found and convicted of attempted vehicular manslaughter.
I am just as infuriated. This student is one of my closest friends and I was shocked half to death after I heard the news.
I know for a fact that she is in the hospital, on the way to stabilizing after being listed as in critical condition. Some kindhearted person found her and sent her to the hospital. Whoever was the coward who did this to her deserves to be punished.
YujingC,
Can you tell me how I can send you some flowers. She is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she is recovering quickly. It's disgusting and frustrating that people do this kind of stuff and don't have any remorse.
