Today 'Faux Baby' the story of living with a reborn baby doll premieres on on Strike TV. LAist asked writer and Executive Producer Jennifer Maisel about her new project.

LAist: How did you get involved in Strike TV?
Jennifer Maisel: I was on the Headquarters Committee during the strike. I spent a lot of time at The Writers Guild. One day I saw a notice about a meeting for Strike TV. Laura Brennan and Rachel Leventhal and I had been discussing doing web project. It all came together at that first meeting when we proposed doing "Faux Baby" for Strike TV.

Where did the idea for the "Faux Baby" project come from?
Laura gave me an article about the reborns. It spoke to all of us. We are all moms. We find parenting particularly challenging and take a sardonic look and what we are going through.

What was the strangest thing that happened on the set?
The kid actors including my daughter treated the doll props like real babies. One of them still lives in my house and my daughter loves playing with it.
