Via a comment left on California Faultline, NBC Blogger David Markland shares the tip which is basically calling a number, asking for an express ballot and they'll tell you to show up at a certain time to pick up the ballot. When you arrive, avoid the extremely long lines and walk straight into the Norwalk building to get your ballot. LA County Registrar-Recorder Dean Logan confirms this program in an e-mail to LAist, but has a warning: "due to the volume, those voters calling in for Ballot Express are being advised that we need a minimum of three hours time before they come in to pick up their ballot."

You are providing a great service here by letting us know about the long lines and Ballot Express options, but can you maybe let a voter know what he or she will need when they get to Norwalk? Do they need ID, a voter registration card, anything?
Thanks!
