A huge announcement from Amanda and Abby of the extremely popular local band, the Ditty Bops, appeared on the band's MySpace blog last night:
Hi Everyone! We just got married! We are so happy that after 10 years together we could make our union legal in the State of California. However, there is a ballot measure in California which would eliminate the rights for same-sex couples to marry and would write discrimination against gays and lesbians into our state constitution. Please join us in voting NO on Proposition 8.
The Ditty Bops, who have been featured in LAist's Soundcheck series, are not only known for their music being heard on TV shows, but also their three and a half month concert tour of the states by bicycle.

That's awesome. The Ditty Bops are great people, and talented musicians. I really hope we can successfully fight off Prop 8.
Mazel tov to the Ditty Bops!
Amanda and Abby of the , the Ditty Bops, are trying to milk prop 8 for publicity for themselves they will do anything for fame
That's like saying black entertainment performers people who fought for civil rights were in it for the fame. Amanda and Abby are exceptional people who put a lot of effort into making the world a better place, and they deserve to be married if they so choose. Musicians don't do things like preforming at small rural farms to support sustainable food if all they cared about was some fame.
