Neighbors Use 1st Amendment Right to Block Palin Effigy

Neighbors of the home owner who has mixed Halloween decor and free speech together for Sarah Palin effigy in his West Hollywood front hard took their First Amendment right this afternoon by peacefully covering the display with sheets for a half hour.

"Chad Michael Morrisette, a professional window display designer who set up the life-size mannequin of Palin in front of his house, said the protesters were mostly concerned that the Palin display cast a bad light on the city's gay community. He said their demonstration lasted about an hour and a half," reported the LA Times. Morrisette told West Hollywood mayor Jeffrey Prang that the display will be down by 8:00 a.m. Saturday.

Can someone hint at the address? I want to check this out before it's taken down..

Go to the intersection of Fountain and Orange Grove, you should see plenty of people gravitating towards it, especially tonight.

Ok, this has officially crossed the line. It's there, we know about it, enough with the crowds of people on the street. Can't they go do something more important like helping get the vote out?

these drama Queens are the reason i voted yes on prop 8 they said we can get away with this we are making fools out of the gay community so its polically correct

Chad took it down. Mayor Prang talked to him and they agreed that it had to come down. Too much negative attention.

But if Sarah Palin was actually hung we'd cheer, right?

if a mannequin of a black person being hanged had been displayed, it would immediately have been labeled a "hate crime." because it's a white woman, it's "free speech"?

@gingerous: Are you suggesting that Chad is advocating the indiscriminate group attacks on any bible thumping white women who wear red dresses?

I really dont need this shit in my hood.

Compare your financial plan under McCain vs. Obama.

What I find interesting is that tax cuts make a small difference in my long-term outlook, while market growth and inflation have a huge impact on my nest egg. The public attention given to tax breaks makes no sense to me. I'm voting for the candidate who will grow the U.S. economy and keep inflation down.

yea if it was a black mannequin it would have started a uproar but it was not !

it was sarah palins dumb ass hanging up there

so i would have kept it
