Very nice post. After watching the recaps of the shows I found out that the script writers have done a great research work on the story. Thanks for the post.

After watching the recaps of the shows i found out that the script writers have done a research work of the story and the presentation of Adrianna's character as a whole is good.

Does anyone know who played Adrianna's Drug Dealer (the guy that gets punched in the face by Navid)? I can't seem to find the actor's name anywhere.

i too find myself wondering if any of the writers did their research and watched or at least read recaps of the original show. so MUCH good material to start with.

i loved the whole adriana getting a "night pass" out of rehab. um, what? never been to rehab, but pretty sure they don't let you out within the first 48 hours.

tp4free, let the record show that i enjoy any sentence that begins "According to Degrassi." (ps, i totally saw through "Darcy"'s lies on that episode. i knew she was Beverly Hills bound.)

According to Degrassi, Annie was suppose to go to Africa to feed hungry children. That lying bitch!

paul, it wasn't directed at you, it was directed at everyone: "readers of LAist who enjoy them can read them, readers who don't can wait for a new story to appear at the top of the page within the hour."

Also, every inquiry isn't a challenge, the whole "if you don't like you can just not read it and wait," comment is frivolous. I don't need someone to tell what to do when something doesn't interest me.

Shockingly, I actually appreciated your full answer as opposed to the "easy" answer. Thanks for taking the time to clear it up and not only give me the latter.

I also find myself in the 25-35 age group that "grew up" watching the original. But personally, the new related-almost-purely-by-name-alone aspect of the new show bears little if any reminiscent value for me, sadly. The love to hate aspect though, that I can identify strongly with.

Little Jackie, the Homecoming Dance band (which, incidentally, hello, welcome back Imani Coppola!) played the Viper Room on June 3. But "like all the time"? No. And how do these High School sophomores get into all these music clubs??? But you're right, Julie, they do drop at least one club name per episode.

Initially it seemed like the show was going to do more "LA" stuff. They all but abandoned the Peach Pit, even! But yes, paul, we do appreciate the local references. And in the first episode recap (the premiere two-for-one) we (okay, I) talked about the demographic dilemma, namely that people like me, in the 25-35 set, "grew up" on the original 90210 and the CW was probably banking on us to tune in (which is why they trotted out Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth et al) and hoping to hook us with their contemporary characters. I think most of us watch it because it's like comfort food--really bad for our health and largely unnecessary but it's fun and feels good. I personally love to hate it, and love to see how they use LA as a character. And I love to write these recaps; readers of LAist who enjoy them can read them, readers who don't can wait for a new story to appear at the top of the page within the hour.

Of course, the easiest answer to paul's question: Because we can.

I thinks it's funny that they reference a local music club in every episode. Last night one of the characters said the homecoming band plays at the Viper Room. So funny!

LORD! This show is down the gutter, but hey anything to grabs those tweens and reels them in.. or maybe I am so far off base from reality that this is present day high school in America.

I like these reviews, keep them coming.

I may have missed the explanatory post preceding these episode recaps... but why is LAist reviewing each episode? I know there are websites that have episode recaps, but why in particular only this show on this site? I get that it is an "LA" show revival of sorts... but does this even target any demographic that reads this site?

Not being derisive either, honestly just curious as to the rationale behind this.
