A Hollywood Poll Worker's Warning for Next Tuesday

wrongpollingplace.jpgLAist reader Eddie Mendoza e-mails us this easy-to-make mistake he (and we) hope you avoid on Election Day: "From my past 3 years of polling experience, I've noticed most voters walk into the wrong polling place. Many believe they should vote at the polling place closest to them, or where they have previously voted and this is usually never the case. If they would like to know where there polling place is they can visit http://www.lavote.net/LOCATOR/." However, this year, he may see less people doing this since half the state is expected to vote by mail.

Good advice but good grief, if someone can't master the simple rules of polling place engagement I can only bet they decide their votes with a coin toss, and then forget to bring the coin.

In my area (south bay), the local Democratic Action Centers are planning on doing mass canvasing this weekend to put flyers on the doors of registered voters with where their polling place is.
