Halloween in WeHo: Street Closures, Parking, Shuttles

Hundreds of thousands of people will descend upon West Hollywood this weekend to party it up on the streets. But with all those people means a high demand on streets already ill-fit for daily traffic. So here's some logistical info to help you if you're going. And if you have any tips, make sure to write them in the comments section below.

Street Closures: If you work or pass through the area during the afternoon, pay attention. Starting at 1:00 p.m., Santa Monica Blvd and Robertson will be closed. Other streets will follow and at 6:00 p.m., La Cienega will shut down.

Parking: Many of the surrounding streets are parking permit only and if they weren't, they would fill up fast. There are a few parking lots the the city of West Hollywood suggests ranging from $15 to 20.

Public Transit: West Hollywood's CityLine shuttles (or shuttlecocks as WeHo Halloween Queen Chelsea Handler would say) will be in operation until 1:30 a.m. for free, but frequency of the service is unknown. Various Metro routes that run at night could be used as well (example, take the 2 down Sunset and walk down to Santa Monica).

The Carnaval: The free and main event officially goes from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., but that's too early to stop a festival, especially on a Friday night. The City's event will stop, but you know things will keep going on unofficially.
