  • Some ambitious crazy students at Granada Hills High got a hold of the SAT a day early. Apparently, two students got a hold of the test and three others actually took copies of the test with them. The school was notified by an anonymous e-mail from a hating honest student who complained.
  • Six Flags will be opening a new coaster next spring. It's a wooden roller coaster named "Terminator" and costs about $10 million. No word on how much of that went to "insanely long line" control.
  • The owner of a day care center in Torrance was charged with molesting two girls aged four and six. The older girl told her parents who then reported the owner. He was booked, and released(?!) after posting $100,000 bail.
  • The LAUSD is still under fire from KNBC for not following up on their promise to clean out lead from the water. The problem was first reported six months ago, but after taking samples and observing schools, it has been found that little if anything has been done.
  • You've seen some around the city; the electronic billboards that are new dazzling. Well the LA City Council is working on a motion that reviews their impact on the communities where they are put up. Things like content and hours of illumination.
  • KABC has a report on local radio host Eddie "Piolin" Sotelo. The host of the number 1 morning radio show in many parts of the West and even Chicago is a huge influence in the Latino community and is asking for people to get out and vote.
  • Pasadena City Council voted to outlaw smoking in outdoor shopping areas, movie ticket lines, dining areas and special outdoor events like the Rose Parade. First time your caught lighting up its a $100 fine. After that it can get up to $500.
  • And finally, we have been talking about how the economy has hit everyone hard. Well even the California Lottery is falling victim to hard times. As we know, part of the money raised from lottery sales goes to education, so with the drop in sales comes a drop in education funding. More good news for schools...
