Personally, I like visiting a handful of my favorites sites everyday to see what's new and updated, only because I am now officially unemployed, so it kills more of my wasted time.

Firefox + RSS + link buttons = goodness. Much faster than google reader.

google reader is my god. Switched over earlier this year and I have no idea how I managed without it.
