Thumbs Up: Chipotle Cheddar Mac & Cheese

chipotle_mac_and_cheese.jpg

If you're on a self-declared "Great Los Angeles Mac & Cheese" hunt, then the fancy chain restaurant that is Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is a needed stop. It's not the best we've had in this city (tough choice between Pete's Bar & Grill and some others), but it certainly ranks up there as a memorable experience with the al dente cavatappi double elbowed pasta drowned in a creamy mild cheddar spiked with chipotle to taste.

It's $8.95 and local locations include Woodland Hills, El Segundo and Newport Beach.

I'm not too sure how I feel about seeing mac-n-cheese that close up....

Damn that looks tasty. But Woodland Hills? El Segundo? Someone should tell Flemings there's a great big LA basin/coatal plain out there!

I thought Chipotle restaurant had started serving mac and cheese.

I'm still sort of trying to stay in denial, but the truth is that I've developed a very strong lactose intolerance over the past couple years or so. My life is ruined. Seriously.

I normally pass on mac n cheese, but that chipotle bit has peaked my curiosity. Man, that sounds good.
