FILM: To celebrate the opening of Saw V later this week, the ArcLight Hollywood’s having a Saw marathon all this week. Tonight at 10 pm is Saw.

PERFORMANCE: “Face It: Torture in the 21st Century: An Evening of Theatre, Discussion and Art” at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica at 7:30 pm features One for the Road by Harold Pinter. There will be a post-performance discussion on torture in the 21st century led by Michael Rapkin, an ACLU attorney who sued both the President of the U.S. and the Secretary of State while representing his client, a suspected enemy combatant held in Guantanamo Bay. “Additionally, noted documentary filmmaker NONNY DE LA PENA and digitial media artist, Peggy Weil, will share "Gone Gitmo," an installation of Guanatanamo Prison in the virtual reality environment Second Life.”

FILM: The “Out of the Past: Film Restoration Today” series continues tonight at the James Bridges Theater at UCLA. The free screening tonight is the 1932 pre-Code melodrama The Right to Love (1930). Ruth Chatterton stars in a dual role in this pre-Code Paramount film about a young woman who is torn between her romantically inclined mother and her Bible-thumping father. Because of advances in filmmaking, Chatterton could play mother and daughter in the same shot. The screening starts at 7:30 pm.

TEEVEE: The Paley Center’s “Inside the Writers Room” introduces us to the creative minds behind The Dream World of Eli Stone tonight at 7 pm. Greg Berlanti, Jonny Lee Miller, Natasha Henstridge and additional members of the cast and creative team will talk about the creative process. Tickets are $25.
