THAT'S A LOT OF PEGS
Matt Bilferd brings his very meticulous artwork to Ghettogloss in Silverlake. The show entitled, "8teen,000" is literally comprised of 18,000 wooden pegs painted and placed in the wall to re-create 50's iconic cartoon images. The artist urges you to experience his work from all different angles, but no matter which way you look at it, it's pretty freaking awesome.

BRINGING HOME PUPPY
That's right. The 11th Annual Dog Faire and Pet Adoption is happening at the Sepulveda Basin Off-Leash Dog Park. There will be plenty for you and your dog to do including checking out the vendors, sampling dog food, getting vaccinated... ok, I guess more stuff for your dog to do. There will also be special agility and service dog demonstrations to watch. Remember to bring a leash! There will be a lot of dogs there, so keep yours safe!

WATCH THE DEBATES
No, not those debates. This afternoon is one of the final performances of The Rivalry at the Skirball Cultural Center. The play revolves around the actual Lincoln/Douglas debates in 1858 (interesting timing) and stars Paul Giamatti and David Strathairn. If you can't catch a live performance, the show will air on LATW's national radio theater series, The Play's The Thing.

MIX AND MATCH YOUR TOYS
Eclectic shop, Wacko, home to La Luz de Jesus Gallery, invite you to play with your toys in their parking lot. Really! From noon to 3 p.m., they will be hosting their 2nd annual Toy Swap and Sale. If you've got an extra toy, bring it with you, you never know what you might swap it for! Plus they will have new stuff from kidrobot, Tokidoki, and more. If you swap your toys early, be sure to get a peek at their new multi-artist show inspired by Family Guy in the back!

Other Things To Do...
Get some marked down clothes at All Purpose's moving sale and say goodbye: they are heading to Europe, attend the opening reception of Richard Amend and Christopher Martin Hoff's new paintings at Lawrence Asher Gallery, get spooked in the basement of the oldest building in Pasadena at the city's annual Old Town Haunt, or head to Santa Monica for a Vintage Fashion Expo.
