The Daily News finds that officials have found at least one lead that they are looking into: "Arson investigators have said they found something suspicious near the fire's ignition point -- a shooting range in Little Tujunga Canyon in the Angeles National Forest -- but details of their findings have not been publicly released." A cursory Google search shows that Angeles Shooting Range is located at 12651 Little Tujunga Canyon Rd.

The firing range has been there a long time. How is it's existence in the same area suspicious? Too bad the Daily News piece doesn't clarify... I'm sure it was no secret to the fire dept or police that the range was there, the place is well known (though maybe not to the Daily News).

I used to go there decades ago with my dad. So yea, it's been there a real long time.

On the other hand, there's a LOT of "target practice" shooting up there in various river beds, often with weapons which wouldn't be allowed on the range.

What a wacked reporting scheme. I'm glad Zach copied the text. If the mere presence of a range is cause for suspicion, well than we can be also be suspicious of the hundreds of cops and sherrif's deputies that have trained there over the years. Trust me, they need all the training they can get...

It's in our 2nd Amendment rights that we're allowed to start fires. Fucking liberal media...

Wait... so were people shooting at the fire to try and put it out? Because I'm pretty sure that won't work.

No Link I don't think they were.

Where did you learn that you hose fires with bullets?

I know that won't work.

Having shot at Angeles a lot more than I'd care to admit, they might be concerned about sparking from a shot hit further up range.

Angeles has had signs up for quite awhile forbidding the use of various rounds, including steel shot and tracer rounds, but that doesn't mean some jerk didn't ignore the rules.

Alternatively, but less likely could be a incident at Moore-n-Moore on the other side of canyon.
