- Continuing with a look at the fires here, calmer winds are allowing firefighters to gain an advantage. Also, investigators are saying that downed power lines could be the cause of the devastation. Here is an updated list (from KNBC.com) of school and road closures, and evacuations.
- If you bought a MegaMillions ticket in Watts in April, heck even if you didnt, check those old tickets! The time limit to claim over $180,000 is drawing near. If no one claims the winnings before next week, the funds go to state education.
- After being ordered back into rehab and having his home searched as part of his probation, Redmond O'Neal and his Dad actor Ryan O'Neal have been charged with felony drug possession. Not exactly a great father-son moment...
- In a not so surprising move, the City of Garden Grove has banned dispensaries of medical marijuana by a 4-1 vote.
- In the "You-Could-Not-Make-This-Up" Department, a parolee who was hiding out from authorities was captured when the attic he was hiding in collapsed. Yes, he fell through the ceiling and landed right at the sheriff deputy's feet.
- The final Presidential Debate airs tonight to help voters decide who will take over the mess that Bush is leaving behind. But who is the KIDS' choice to lead in the White House?
- Finally, it's National School Lunch Week. Nowadays, the kids are all health conscious with sprouts and veggies and stuff like that. We harken back to the days when sloppy joes or meatloaf were slapped on your tray and ketchup was a vegetable. Fridays were made THAT much better by a personal favorite PIZZA DAY!
