As the Marek/Little Tujunga Fire expanded to 3,200 acres last night, 1200 residents are now evacuated. The Los Angeles Fire Department launched this map showing the evacuated areas within city limits. Additionally the 210 Freeway is closed between the 118 and 5 freeways as well as four schools. A count of structures burned is unknown at this time, but one LA County Inspector told the LA Times that he could see buildings in a mobile home park and industrial structures burning from a distance.

Google maps saves us once again. Awesome.

It was another long night as the winds began to howl around 4am last night. It was damn near impossible to get out of there this morning to get to work. Fortunately my animals are safe my home is out of danger and my chest hurts from all the smoke I inhaled.

Winds shouldnt be a factor for another 12 hours. The madness begings again tonight. Great work by the Fire Depts.

i dropped a rental car off at BUR this am. took the wrong exit on the 170 and ended up in the snarled mess of fire/commute traffic. winds whipped the valley. it was like driving through hell. it conjured thoughts of mike davis' writings.

I used to live in that area between the two parks and the evacuation area. Rajah st.
