BE A PART OF REALITY HISTORY
If you love the MTV show, The Hills-- or don't-- you want to be at the Upright Citizens Brigade tonight. Comedians Janeane Garofalo and Jerry O'Connell star in The Hills: A Staged Reading. Lauren, Heidi, Brody, and the rest of your favorite fake TV celebrities will be portrayed in this hilarious comedy.
FIND THE STAPLER
Angel City Drive-In brings you the classic comedy, Office Space, screened on the roof of a parking garage in the middle of downtown. Roller girls (and sometimes a guy in a skirt) skate around your car selling you food, candy, and drinks. These monthly events support the Angel City Derby Girls, so if you can't make it to a screening, check out one of their home games!
LAUGH AT THE LARGO
Everyone associates the Largo with Jon Brion. But tonight, SNL comedians Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen take over the venue with their own brand of entertainment. With two shows, one at 8 p.m., and one at 10 p.m., you have double the chance to see these guys in action. Apparently their last show was quite the hit. Get ready to laugh.
WATCH A "DUCKUMENTARY"
G2 Gallery, an environmentally-friendly art space in Venice Beach, hosts the premiere of Mary Tweti and JP Sarro's documentary, Little Miss Dewie. The story follows Tweti as she rescues a duckling from a Los Angeles lagoon, raises it, and finally gives it a new home. The filmmakers will be there to answer questions and help put on the silent auction where 100% of the proceeds with go to charity.
Other Things To Do...
Help celebrate Dia De Los Muertos by learning how to make papel flores, paper masks, and other items important to the holiday, attend a showing of the play, Asleep on a Bicycle at the Lillian Theatre, or check out the Freewaves 11th Festival of Experimental Media Arts taking over the restaurants, venues, and buses of Hollywood.
