Plaque for Fallen Firefigher to be Installed

LAFD Brent Lovrien plaque

It was March 26 when firefighter Brent Lovrien and his fellow firefighters responded to an underground fire on Sepulveda Bouleard near LAX. When he forced entry into a locked doorway, sparks from his power saw ignited trapped gases inside causing a large explosion killing him.

Tomorrow, the fire department, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl and community members will honor Lovrien with a dedication of a bronze plaque (as seen above) at the site of the explosion. Rosendahl's office was kind enough to share with us a photo of that plaque that will soon be found on Sepulveda.

i'd rethink the method for honoring this firefighter as this plaque will probably get stolen and sold for scrap.
