Cloris Leachman Named Rose Parade Grand Marshal

Cloris Leachman is named the grand marshal at the Rose Parade in 2009Oh, Cloris Leachman, you silly bawdy 82-year-old who has charmed your way through Dancing with the Stars this season. You've done it again. Today, you were named the grand marshal of the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena! Big kudos.

The theme of the 120th anniversary of this year's parade is Hats off to Entertainment. "One hundred and 20 years. Can you imagine that? Are you imagining that? I wonder what my career will be like in the next 60? .... Well, this is certainly a good start," the octogenarian comedian joked. "I graciously accept your invitation to be grand marshal of the 2009 Rose Parade and toss the coin at the 95th Rose Bowl game," she said. "I thank you for this honor and look forward to seeing you all on Colorado Boulevard on January 1st."

Also in Pasadena: "Frank L. Ellsworth, former president of Pitzer College in Claremont, has been named interim president of Art Center College of Design, three weeks after the abrupt departure of former President Richard Koshalek," the Pasadena Star News reported.

The Cloris Leachman news is wonderful, in some totally bizarro way.

Could this be a sign that the apocalypse is near?

Surely brother (or sister) surely! Ra-men.
